The Surf Sports calendar for 2010-2011. Season is now online -
go to Library to download the PDF (Updated 28 Aug).
This document will be updated as further information becomes
available and events will be added to the website Calendar
over time.

There are two official courses coming up. The more officials we have
trained, the more we can share the workload at carnivals.
As our club must supply 1 official for every 10 competitors we enter at
every carnival, it is essential that we ensure we have plenty of members
trained and prepared to pitch in.
The bonus is, you get front row seats to all the action!
The courses are:
IRB Specific Level 1 Officials:
Caves Beach SLSC, 8.30am to 3.30pm, Saturday 25 September.
Enrolments close Friday 3rd September.
Level 1 Officials:
Hunter Branch Office, over two nights 6pm to 9pm,
Tuesday 19 October 2010 & 26 October 2010.
Enrolments close Monday 27 September.
Members wishing to enrol in the Level One Surf Officials Course must be:
• a current financial member of a club affiliated with Surf Life Saving NSW
• a minimum of 16 years of age
• completed a working with children requirements

OVERVIEW OF THE OFFICIALS COURSE:
The Level One Surf Sports Officials course is to provide an entry level and
developmental program for members wishing to pursue a career or to assist
with officiating at surf lifesaving events.
The course covers lectures in the following units:
• Introduction to the course
• Role of the Surf Sports official and their duties
• communication – verbal, non verbal and active listening
• Rules of Surf Sports Competitions
• Attending a surf sports carnival
• Assessment and accreditation
HOW TO BECOME AN ACCREDITED LEVEL 1 SURF SPORTS OFFICIAL
• Attend the full Level one surf sport official workshop
• Complete the surf sports official workbook
• Attend SLSA carnivals/competitions
• Third Party reports completed

Nippers U6 & U7: $60
Nippers U8 to U14: $90
Family (Immediate): $250
Active (Patrol): $40
Active Competitive: $90
Associate: $70
From the 27th September 2010 the following costs will be incurred for registration;
Late Rego Costs;
Nippers U6 & U7: $70
Nippers U8 to U14: $100
Family (Immediate): $280
Active (Patrol): $50
